Kavli Foundation Keynote Plenary Session

Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusivity in U.S. Science

Third Level, MG Salon D

We have far too few African American, Hispanic, and other minorities in physics, astronomy, and other STEM fields. Three experts—from government, academics, and the US national laboratory system, who have thought about underrepresented minorities in the US—will speak in this year’s Kavli session. Come listen to them, and come with questions.

Speakers

  • Kétévi A. Assamagan, Brookhaven National Laboratory, on why we should invest in Africa and Latin America
  • Asmeret Berhe, Department of Energy, on what to expect in the US
  • Diedre Hodges, Florida International University, on what works and what does not in U.S. workspace
