Health and Safety Requirements to Attend the APS April Meeting in New York

Health and Safety Requirements to Attend

Update: March 20, 2022

All in-person attendees at APS-hosted meetings are required to provide proof of an 'up to date' vaccination, including primary dosage(s) and any applicable boosters, based on the latest CDC recommendations for staying Up to Date on vaccines. And all attendees must also receive a negative COVID test result before entering the meeting.

In light of ongoing monitoring of infection and transmission of COVID-19, we have relaxed some of the COVID-19 safety requirements for in-person attendance of the 2022 APS April Meeting, as of March 20. These changes were made in consultation with our scientific consulting firm; APS is committed to offering in-person participants a safe way to gather.

Please note the following changes:

  • APS has expanded the list of acceptable pre-meeting COVID-19 tests to now include any at-home or pharmacy-based rapid antigen test or PCR test.
  • Mask wearing is now optional. It is the responsibility of attendees with symptoms, or potential exposure to someone with COVID-19 to continue to wear a mask.

An attendee must be symptom free for at least 10 days from the on-set of symptoms to participate in the meeting.

Update: March 4, 2022

All attendees are required to be up to date on their COVID-19 vaccines prior to attending the meeting with a vaccine approved by the CDC and/or World Health Organization (Pfizer/BioNTech, Johnson and Johnson/Janssen, Moderna, AstraZeneca/Oxford, Covishield, Covaxin, Covovax, Nuvaxovid, Sinopharm, or Sinovac). Booster shots are required, if eligible. If you have not yet received a booster and have been recently infected, please contact safemeetings@aps.org for guidance.
